M1 Motorcycle Marathon
Give your grasp of motorcycle operation a real workout with this M1 Motorcycle Marathon practice test!In Ontario’s Graduated Licensing System (GLS), the M1 knowledge test is designed to evaluate your understanding of motorcycling theory, including road signs, rules of the road, and motorcycle-specific information, such as motorcycle handling techniques, group riding, and motorcycle helmets. Passing the M1 test is a crucial requirement for an M1 operator’s licence (commonly considered a “motorcycle learner’s permit”). Your M1 licence will allow you to practise motorcycle riding from ½ hour before sunrise to ½ hour after sunset, but not with a passenger and not on most roads with speed limits over 80 km/h.The M1 knowledge test consists of 64 multiple-choice questions in three sections: 20 questions on road signs, 20 questions on rules of the road, and 24 questions specific to motorcycle riding. The test is based on the latest versions of the Official Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) Driver’s Handbook (for road signs and rules of the road) and the Official Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) Motorcycle Handbook (for motorcycle-specific topics). To pass the written knowledge test, you must score 80% in each section.Our tools complement and work with the Handbooks to ensure you’ll pass the M1 knowledge test on your first try. This massive, 240-question practice test has questions on topics from all three sections of the official M1 knowledge test: road signs, road rules, and motorcycle riding. (The questions come from our other G1 and M1 practice tests.) It’s up to date as of April 2025 and based on the official handbooks, just like the official M1 knowledge test.However, this M1 Marathon practice test works differently from our other M1 practice tests. There are no hints or other aids to help you answer correctly. Whenever you miss a question, you’ll be shown an explanation of the correct answer, and the question will be moved further down in the list of questions, so you’ll have to try the same question again later. You’ll keep cycling through all 240 questions in this way until you answer every one of them correctly. At that point, the test ends.Use this Marathon practice test to identify topics whose questions you missed most often. Then train (or retrain) in those areas with our other practice tests.
